Back on Track-The Wounded Soul of the Warrior

Updated: Oct 6, 2020

The depth of hurt and pain goes to the soul and is deeper than just the physical. For instance, you can take a pill to cover or mask a symptom, but that symptom is still there.

It is my belief, and I have lived with PTSD for most of my adult life, that the soul itself is wounded. It is my objective, my mission to help you to understand why, and to what extent the warrior spirit and the spirit of the man are linked by their creation. It is a fact that men together in combat become closer than a family member; a sense of bonding develops that is a brotherly love. What happens when the war is over, and you come back home, and that bond is no longer needed? The Warrior spirit still longs for that brotherly love, but it is not to be found. One biblical passage says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is." Proverbs 23:7a. A Warrior’s identity has been changed forever. We are different! Yet, nobody wants to tell us this significant truth. Only the person that has experienced the extraordinary event, has also experienced the normal reaction to the said event. The Warrior’s response to battlefield experiences goes deep to the soul; changing him/her forever.

KEY POINTS:

1. UNDERSTAND THESE FEELINGS ARE REAL AND SHOULD NOT BE ABANDONED

2. PART OF YOU HAS CHANGED, AND THAT FACT BECOMES ONE OF THE BURDENS OF BEING A WARRIOR. (Survivor)

3.UNDERSTAND THAT BEING A WARRIOR MEANS BEING ENLIGHTENED TO WHAT THE ESSENCE OF THE WARRIOR SPIRIT IS.

4.THE WARRIOR SPIRIT IS UNIQUE AND IS SORELY MISUNDERSTOOD. UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE NOT VICTIMS BUT ENLIGHTENED BECAUSE OF OUR EXPERIENCES.
